"Brace Yourself"...

First off... Everyone is safe and that's really all I give a rat's patootie about but THIS was the the sight outside my bedroom window when I woke up... about three hours after I finally got to sleep.  Below the fold line are the pictures of the damage to the car my husband and daughter, Rachel were in when it arrived home last night.  The only reason my husband actually left the scene of the accident (besides the ability to actually drive a car) was because it happened less than a half mile from our house.  They were almost home.

Scary...even if no one was hurt...thank goodness.

P.S. We don't have any falling branches from heavy snow down here...just in case you want to move...

Eek! I'm glad everyone's OK. Here's hoping you've gotten your winter trauma out of the way early this year, and the rest of the season is smooth sailing (or driving).

Very happy everyone was ok. While the bedroom pics are gorgeous, the car pics are scary.

Mrs Who - I SOOOO want to go to somewhere warm, but with my luck I'd end up in the Sahara Desert.

Meleah - Yup. A week later and I'm still counting my blessings.

Bette - Have I mentioned everyone is getting snow studded tires for their Christmas present this year. Seriously.

Ah Roses - A heartfelt thank you.

Christie - Southern California is looking pretty good right now. I wonder how long the drive would be? That is, of course, assuming we get a car back. There were so many accidents that the insurance company auditor who is supposed to look at the damage before we can even take it to a garage to find out what the all the damage IS until at least Thursday. (Now I'm wondering how long it would take me to hike it...)

VWBug - God always opens a window when another door shuts. All the snow was melted and off the trees within several hours of the sun coming it. It was truly weird. I'm glad I got those pictures and a few more, I'll have to find my camera so I can take a picture of the same spot.

LeeAnn - Thanks.

Jenny - Life would not be the same with out you. Unfortunately, my time on the computer is seriously limited. Long story. Still, I hope you continue to write! Believe me, people will find you mostly by accident and will stay to read!

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and great karma!

You really made lemonade with that one! So glad everyone is okay. My husband weathered the storm without me since I was in TN at the time, but I don't think he was out driving during the worst of it. Whew!
