And Then My Life Began...

“I spent my young adult years postponing many of the small things that I knew would make me happy.…I was fortunate enough to realize that I would never have the time unless I made the time. And then the rest of my life began.” ~ Dr Chris Peterson

10 Things Happy People Do Differently

After reading this article, I've realized I have 7 of the 10 I attempt every day. Time for me to focus a little more on the other three.  What about you?

  1. There lives have direction.... I'll be happy to fit that one in just as soon as I have the time and stop revolving my life around everyone elses... let's just not go there because then we wander into adult ASD territory (passing for normal crowd that think all parents are stupid) and then I just get upset.....

The trick to being happy isn't a list of "things" one should do or not do. Simply, if you cannot live with yourself or inside your own head the rest is irrelevant. Why?? B/c it just keeps you busy and putting things off... which just makes things worse in the long run.

So my recommendation is long hours on a riding mower every summer. You can't hide from your thoughts and nobody can interrupt you.

  2. Riding a lawn mower makes me think of the fact that I have to wear hearing protection... Which means I can't hear the kids argue... Which means I can find my zen place. Ok. Riding lawn mower is a viable option for me too.
